Lakes We Fish
MILLE LACS
The peerless Lake Mille Lacs has become famous as North America’s premier monster muskie factory. It’s well known that this lake is unrivaled at producing fifty pound class muskies.
In recent tournaments, nearly one-in-three fish caught were over the magic 50-inch mark. There’s probably no better place to catch your first, your most, or your next fifty. What’s under-reported is the numbers and quality of the muskies under 50”. The massive and varied forage base keeps all the well-fed muskies heavy and strong.
Mille Lacs is big and diverse. Its 132,000 acres contain miles of weeds, numerous rock reefs, and sand flats. All produce muskies at different times of the year. The variety of the structure and habitat keeps things interesting, often with multiple patterns producing at a time.
MILTONA
Like Mille Lacs, this lake is great for size AND numbers.
How about diversity? At about 5,800 acres, this lake has a little of everything including steep break-lines, holes, flats, humps, and points. The cabbage beds dotting the lake are spectacular. The number of “spots”, known, and yet-to-be-discovered, can keep any muskie fan busy for weeks.
And the fish? The fish here are heavy. The forage is abundant and consists primarily of cisco, sucker, and perch. The girth on these fish will make you misjudge their length before they’re measured.

OTHER LAKES
There are many other lakes in central and north-central Minnesota I guide including Bemidji, Plantanganette, Mantrap, and others. If you have a lake in mind, let me know.
We can pick a lake to suit your plans, your fishing style, your goals, etc. Whether you'd like to increase your success on your “vacation lake”, hunt for your fish-of-a-lifetime, hit an "action" lake, or introduce a spouse or youngster to muskie fishing, we can tailor a trip to meet your needs.
